Care and Maintenance : Troubleshooting
We advise that all equipment be checked on a daily basis to ensure its safe and proper use.
In case of a fault, instructions on how to troubleshoot
the equipment are given to patients and parents. Each patient is issued
with a set of spare parts at switch on.
Children should carry these with them and make them available to teachers
and nursery staff each day. Parents are responsible for keeping these spares
boxes fully stocked. In an emergency additional spare parts can be obtained
from the clinic.
Information and practical demonstrations on troubleshooting are also given to professionals in the community working with children by our rehabilitation staff. Laminated instruction cards and DVD’s are also available from the clinic.
If further help is required please contact the cochlear implant clinic directly.
